Yesterday I went on base to register my husband's new truck and I was wearing "sweats" (they don't look like they are, they're not ratty or anything) and a T-shirt. When I went up to get my stickers the lady whispered to me that I'm not allowed to wear that in there. I was a little shocked because I've never been told that. I was like "ok." She asked me, well, is your husband a LCPL and I was like (thinking what this has to do with anything) and she said "Well, my husband is a Master Sgt (don't know the whole abbreviation for that) and your husband should know this." The thing that really pissed me off was when she was naming ranks, I mean if my husband were that high up, I would never do that! Anyways, what I want to know, is, if there were NO signs up for dress codes, then how was I supposed to know? I would just like to know because I don't want to embarrass myself next time. She really made me feel low (mainly because of the "well, my husband is this and your husband is that" kind of thing). Anyone know?

Stephie0407 --- 9 years ago -

There is a dress code for the base... although I have never seen it enforced

Sasha --- 9 years ago -

No PT (looking like) clothing, even for civvies. I will get more defined regualtions. Or someone might beat me to it.

supercalifragilistic --- 9 years ago -

The "pulling rank" wasn't necessary for her to tell you that you may not have been aware of the dress code.

MeaniePoopyPants --- 9 years ago -

My friend went to get her sticker the other day for their new car and was wearing tight pants and they told her to go home and change!!!!!!!!

MizzKitty --- 9 years ago -

I know there are dress codes for the exchange, commissary, and c-stores, and there are signs there stating what the dress code is. Don't know about a dress code for where you went, but I think the comment that woman made about rank was completely out of line. It's not here rank, but she was certainly trying to wear it.

Same♪melody --- 9 years ago -

Dress code or not the lady should not have brought the husbands rank into it. That has nothing to do with anything in my opinion.

*Michelle Lynnette* --- 9 years ago -

Wow..how rude. I see some people walking around here like they just crawled out of bed and some walking around half naked and they never get into trouble..

MizzKitty --- 9 years ago -

It's not here rank, Oooops! I meant her,not here! lol

hellonheelz --- 9 years ago -

My friend went to get her sticker the other day for their new car and was wearing tight pants and they told her to go home and change!!!!!!!! Yeah, she said "I'm being nice, I could tell you to go home and change, but I'm being nice." Although, she said it in a not so nice tone..lol.

Erin --- 9 years ago -

FUK her!!!!! Who is she to pull rank!!! I so cannot stand that crap. I would have told her straight up, what is it any business of yours what I am wearing? Am I showing my a$$ or stomach off? No, then butt out. But of course I amt he same person who told a SSGT that he was an A$$ in front of his whole office.

its-a-sunny-day:-) --- 9 years ago -

no flip flops either, they are actually considered "shower shoes"

*Michelle Lynnette* --- 9 years ago -

Hell will freeze over before I stop wearing my flip flops. It's freakin NC for crying out loud.

♥Butterfly♥ --- 9 years ago -

no flip flops either, they are actually considered "shower shoes" seriously.. I wear my flip flops everywhere .. no one has ever said anything to me

hellonheelz --- 9 years ago -

FUK her!!!!! Who is she to pull rank!!! I so cannot stand that crap. I would have told her straight up, what is it any business of yours what I am wearing? Am I showing my a$$ or stomach off? No, then butt out. But of course I amt he same person who told a SSGT that he was an A$$ in front of his whole office. That's what I was thinking! I'm like nothing is showing, I have a bra on and I have tennis shows! What I meant to say earlier was when I first walked up there, she called it PT gear and I said what? Then, she said "you're not supposed to "athletic gear." I never considered what I wear is athletic gear..lol!

MeaniePoopyPants --- 9 years ago -

Hell will freeze over before I stop wearing my flip flops. It's freakin NC for crying out loud.  LMAO yeah. I own a pair of boots, a pair of hooker high heels, and a one pair of sneakers. The rest are all flip flops and I'll be damned if ANYONE tells me I can't wear them.

mommie2C&K --- 9 years ago -

they say flip flops that are not made out of rubber or foam (bottoms and tops) are ok. like if they have an actual sole on them. LOL i love how they pick and choose though on the dress code. if its gonna be enforced enforce it to everyone!

*~LittleMissPerfect~* --- 9 years ago -

LOL I've seen people come to our commissary in their house slippers no one has ever made a big deal about it.

its-a-sunny-day:-) --- 9 years ago -

F%ck the dress code I'll wear what I want as long as I look nice!...LOL

hellonheelz --- 9 years ago -

That's why I'm all upset about it! I've never been told by anyone "well, you can't wear that." I never wear anything showey (sp) on base and I make sure that everything is covered and I look decent! I never go out in public looking like I just woke up..lol! I also think if she looked at my ID card and my husband was a higher rank that she wouldn't have said anything to me!

truthiness --- 9 years ago -

well it was nice she didn't send you home

MeaniePoopyPants --- 9 years ago -

So, "athletic" gear is out, but women showing their tits and buttcracks is good to go? Go figure!

hellonheelz --- 9 years ago -

well it was nice she didn't send you home Yeah, then I would have really been embarrassed and made my husband go do it!

truthiness --- 9 years ago -

Yeah, then I would have really been embarrassed and made my husband go do it! lol don't forget, you can always go to New River

Brandy --- 9 years ago -

I went into the pass place last week wearing a tank top and flip flops and the lady told me that my shirt was "pushing it" I told her I wasnt showing anything bad so I was not concerned and she rolled her eyes at me. I would never wear sweat pants out in public. Gym shorts maybe but that would be pushing it. I see people at walmart in PJ pants and house shoes, which blows my mind.

SeriouslyInaneBabble --- 9 years ago -

LOL I would have gotten dressed in some skanky clothes (heh... not that I have any) and go back up there and say "is this better? It isn't PT gear."

Brandy --- 9 years ago -

don't forget, you can always go to New River yea, not a good choice. the lady in there is not very nice. She yells at people and gets in their face. she is the one that got snippy with me about my shirt. heaven forbid you do not know the answer to one of her 1000 questions.

GrlFrmNY --- 9 years ago -

Were were in IHOP once and there was a marine wearing Pajama pants and fuzzy shrek slippers. My hubby ripped him a new a..hole.Then we drove him to base to whoever was in charge of him. That car ride was extremley uncomfortable!

Stephie0407 --- 9 years ago -
