Does the Military do anything for our kids for college? I heard from someone recently that if you retire from the Military the they help pay for college for our kids.!.!. Does anyone know anything about this?

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

Not that I know of. Only if your husband has 10 years in with the GI Bill he can pass it to his kid to use (effective this Fall). Or, if your husband has received the purple heart. And there is something with the VA.

Mater --- 16 years ago -

Nope, they don't.

MrsH --- 16 years ago -

I wish!

Marie88 --- 16 years ago -

Nope.

Pipe*down*lil*keyboard*warrior --- 16 years ago -

Indiana does if they enlisted during war time so I'm guessing it depends on the state.

freddy --- 16 years ago -

my husband served 30 years, l2 months and 3 days, and our children get nothing except normal benefits until 21

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

Yes, they pay for Harvard or Yale ONLY. If the kid can't get in on their own the Marine Corp retakes their SAT for them and then threaten the school with military action if the kid isn't allowed in.

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

What an idiot. Sure.

MI Gal --- 16 years ago -

What about a Military college?

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

6 years it can be passed to your spouse and 10 years to your kids It's 10 for wives (which shouldn't be able to do) and kid.

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

What about a Military college? I don't know about that. But I hear Mickey Dees University and Clown College are giving out scholarships right now.

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

(which shouldn't be able to do) What does that mean?

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

(which shouldn't be able to do) What does that mean? I don't think the wife should get any of the GI Bill. JMPO.

MrsH --- 16 years ago -

I don't think the wife should get any of the GI Bill. JMPO. No reason it should go to waste. The service memeber earned it so I think they should be able to do with it as they please.

Marie88 --- 16 years ago -

I don't think the wife should get any of the GI Bill. JMPO.  Agreed.

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

No reason it should go to waste. The service memeber earned it so I think they should be able to do with it as they please. That's what I think too!

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

I don't think the wife should get any of the GI Bill. JMPO. Can you elaborate on WHY you have that opinion?

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

No reason it should go to waste. The service memeber earned it so I think they should be able to do with it as they please. See I feel its the same as the Blues Jacket, if you want to wear it/use it, then you should enlist and earn it.

dmc... --- 16 years ago -

depends on the state, as others have already posted. I don't think NC does anything. Has to be the AD members state of record, as far as I know (or be registered or whatever, drawing a blank).

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

See I feel its the same as the Blues Jacket, if you want to wear it/use it, then you should enlist and earn it. Then you think the children shoudn't be able to use it either?

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

Can you elaborate on WHY you have that opinion? The kids can use it. I just feel that the wife can't. Too much can go wrong with the marriage.

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

That's just my own personal opinion. Not everyone feels the same on the GI Bill. So I'm not going down that road.

MrsH --- 16 years ago -

Too much can go wrong with the marriage. And there are parents who disown their kids and vice versa

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

So I'm not going down that road. Good because I think you're NUTS. Like really really twisted in your thought process. And there are parents who disown their kids and vice versa My thoughts EXACTLY!

♥♥♥ --- 16 years ago -

Good because I think you're NUTS. Like really really twisted in your thought process. I'm not nuts or twisted in my thought process at all.

jesuschristSUPAstar! --- 16 years ago -

I'm not nuts or twisted in my thought process at all. If you think a husband shouldn't be able to use something HE EARNED to educate his WIFE, usually THE MOTHER OF HIS KIDS because she may leave him, cheat on him, or whatever other twisted scenario your twisted mind came up with, well then IMO you're NUTS!
