Good evening! I am writing this post to brag about a wonderful hair stylist. My family and I PCSed here last year, before that we were stationed in California; where I had the same stylist for 4 years. Now, I am very picky about who I let touch my hair and we all know how hard it is to find someone who you trust to do our hair. Well, after many failed hair appointments I met the greatest hair stylist, Olivia Thompson. Olivia is awesome, she listens to what you have to say and what you want and if you do not know she will help you decide. She does all appointments out of her home, so it is comfortable and friendly; which I would trade a salon for comfortable and great any day. Olivia is reasonably priced; in fact, just last month she cut my hair, colored, highlighted and styled for $60; thatÂ’s right, $60. She does an awesome job and she does it all; from hair, to waxing. You really could not meet a nicer woman or have a better experience. Let me brag just one more detail, for my ball, it was in Myrtle Beach or Olivia would have done my hair, I went to Regis (in the Myrtle Beach mall) and the stylist who did my fair, kept praising how well my highlights looked and how well they were blended with my color. I have had numerous compliments on my hair and I have referred friends to her; I even let her cut my 4 year old daughterÂ’s hair (and trust me that is trust). So, please if you are looking for a great stylist, but not looking to spend a lot message here I and I will give you her information, so you can call her up and get your hair on. I am not doing this for any specials or reduced costs, I am doing this because I know what it is like to want a good hair stylist and with Olivia I have found mine. So, let her be yours. You will not be disappointed.
Happy Holidays,
Melaney

What salon does she work at?

What salon does she work at?

She does not work at a salon, as she works out of her home. She is really good at what she does. She lives on base and she does lots of people's hair and up dos for balls. I gladly give up the salon for the excellent customer service and friendliness that she shows every one of her customers.

Isn't it against the rules to run a business from base housing?

Not sure how she is running a business if she is doing occasionally. I was putting my post on here to let people know about her, have her come to them or what not. I am sure I did not say that she was running a salon out of her house.

Business = getting paid for services rendered.

I am sure I did not say that she was running a salon out of her house.

Um, yeah, you did in your very first post:

actually you can run a business out of your home on base..Just had a big news article on a couple from tt, that are doing juicing from home. I think to be legit you have to go thru the base and be legal and all that but yes it is possible. chances are since this gal is now trying to revert what she said then yes its not legit....

You can have a business on base as long as it does not compete with anything they have already.
KEEP IN MIND.. You also have to aquire a NC license.
You may want to know that in the state of NC you cannot be a cosmetologist / stylist, and run your business from home. Big No! NO!

There was one in BM a few years ago. She got into trouble for being a stylist on base. They lived across from us. (They were required to move off base.) -----> Yes! They were kicked off base. The only reason I know is that she used to do my hair.

BTW... In NC.... All Stylists must work from an inspected salon.

Always if in doubt check you your stylist license:

Thank you for posting that! As a cosmetologist I understand how people may be tempted to cut hair out of their house with how expensive booth rent is BUT it's against the law. Is it worth losing your license over? There are plenty of places in Jville that will do commission and NC transfers licenses from other states pretty easily.

she works out of her home

That's a deal breaker for me. 100%
