Hello. I was looking into getting a gym membership that has daycare out in town. I was hoping to get feedback from others that have memberships that use the daycare services. Last time I was stationed here I paid around $500 for Courts Plus for a one year membership. That was before all their upgrades. So I am sure that price has went up. lol TIA.

Hey, I am not sure how much the day care is. But right now Gold's gym has a special for 59.00 down, $25 a month ((payments start two months after down payment)). I would call and see. But I love that gym. They have all new equipment, and their day care is remodeled and my niece and nephew goes there! All their treadmills, ollipitcals and etc.. have tv screens on them- it's pretty neat!! The day care is usually open till 8 or 8:30 pm I believe. But the gym is open 24/7

oh wow, that sounds AWESOME! im def going to have to call and check them out! thanks alot!

HiImKia --- 14 years ago -

TT is free, they sell punch cards for child care.

renee11 --- 14 years ago -

Hey, not a problem! Gold's gym has tanning also- I think it might be like 20 dollars a month, and they have three different beds/ one stand up booth. But the employees are very very nice guys and I believe you are able to have a couple trainer sessions, where they set up a good work out routine for you, teach you how to use all the weight training machines, and more.. I go there because it is close to where I live, so with the amount of gas I would be spending to drive on base would end up as much as a membership to Gold's- So it all depends! =]

Courts Plus is 90 bucks a month now without a membership.

Anyone know how much the gym near K Mart is?

RoninsDad --- 14 years ago -

I totally agree with Renee, Gold's Gym is awesome and their day care is pretty good too. They actually remember our son's name everytime we come in, even if we've been gone for 3 or more months.

We are paying $80/month for the whole family plus the day care, but I'm sure they may have better deals. We signed up for this about two years ago.

The only bad thing about Gold's is it can get extremely crowded Monday through Wednesday at 6pm til 8pm. However, they offer free valet parking Monday through Wednesday at these hours. Their equipment is top of the line and there is a lot of "eye candy" to keep you motivated.

mrs. p --- 14 years ago -

oh wow, i didnt realize they was so busy that they need valet parking.

i got a paper today and Onslow Fitness (near Kmart) has a trial membership for 30 days for $20. that includes everything even daycare. were going to give that a chance. i hope we dont fall in love and the price goes from $20 to $100 a month. lol

jessibel205 --- 14 years ago -

we used to go to onslow fitness and it was 75(about) dollars a month for a family and daycare is not extra with any membership. i personally didnt care for the daycare

supercalifragilistic --- 14 years ago -

Damn, when I got the under 18 discount which I think was about 1/2 off and this was 9 years ago I paid $30 a month for the YMCA for myself

mrs. p --- 14 years ago -

i know, ive been thinking gym prices are real exspensive. i was wondering if i was the only one that was thinking that.

Paddle Faster, I Hear Banjos! --- 14 years ago -

Sadly, a lot of women who pay for gym memberships don't go enough (due to schedules, kids, husbands, etc.) to get their money's worth.

The base gyms are free, and offer most of the same services.

chatty cathy --- 14 years ago -

I used to go to Gold's and I really liked it. I paid around $50 month and it included childcare and tanning.

I went almost every day while my dh was deployed. I couldn't pass up a couple of hours away from my kids!

I think I'm going to jump on that.

Is the pool there decent? That's one of the reasons I was looking at Courts Plus.

NannaBanana --- 14 years ago -

We go to Onslow Fitness. I think it's the best as fat as gyms go in the area (besides base). They have a pool, sauna, steam room, and loads of classes. For a family, we pay $69/mo and that includes daycare (2hours!).

LeanCuisine --- 14 years ago -

Are the pools at Courts plus and Onslow Fitness indoor?

mrsroboto --- 14 years ago -

Yes.

Edit: Actually, I think courts plus has an outdoor pool, too. But I know they have an indoor one.

LeanCuisine --- 14 years ago -

Thanks

ncnative --- 14 years ago -

Just found out kids under 14 can't use Onslow Fitness at all. So much for that.
