We are waiting too..... Its so aggrivating! I think my mailbox knows tht we are expecting the letter..we have gotten no mail 3 days this week. This has never happened!
Yeah I know what u mean! My daughter has been talking about wanting to go to school for the past year lol, she will be disappointed if she doesn't get in. I hope ur daughter gets in!
im way tooo lazy to read all this. i guess if my daughter is three she can't fit in? does anyone know the cut off dates? when they get it how long do they last? do they get picked up by the bus? when does school start and end? do you have to be the for lunch?
If you get a letter now it means your child has gotton in, I did not get a letter last Aug but was called in Oct letting me know a spot had come open for my daughter, deff know how you all are feeling..lol
mrs p
I was allowed to sign my 3 yr old up this yr but was told that they take all 4 yr olds 1st, if by chance they run out of 4 yrs olds they would take him into the program and then he would automatically be in for next yr also as a 4 yr old..slim chance he's getting in as a 3 yr old though..when they get in they will go the full school yr just like reg school(or whats left of the school yr if your child is takin in later), full days also..they are allowed to ride the bus, you do not have to be there for lunch..breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided everyday.
Do you have to pay for More at 4? We want to go back to Camp Lejeune when our time is up here in SC and I want to put my youngest son in something when we go back. Just want to be prepared for what we find.
My oldest son is in Pre-K here and it's free. Do they have anything like that there?
krystal, m@4 is a free program run by onslow county- you have to sign up at the education building behind triangle navy fed. it is pretty much a "preK" program. mrs. p- tehy provide breakfast lunch and snack. you are not allowed to pack a snack or lunch as they are on a nutrition plan and all children are fed the same thing. bus depends on if your school provides transportation. they have more at 4 classes in elementary and also daycare facilities (although all more at 4 classes are taught by more at 4 teachers!)
from my experience last year, we got our letter the 3rd week in august. my son was accepted into the program at a daycare facility, not an elementary school.
some of my friends' children were also accepted and recieved letters at varying dates during august.
I just called the County and asked about the More at 4~ since my Son has not received his letter yet. She said that all of the Head Start kids had their letters sent out and all the applicants of the More At 4 will receive their letter by August 31.
The Head Start is for low income families and the acceptance to this program depends only on income(thats what the lady told me on the phone). More at 4 does not depends on income only.
