H& R called to make an appt., since we went last year. The woman wanted me to give out the last 4 of his social security over the phone, just to make an appointment. I absolutely refuse to give out info over the phone, even if my caller ID says it probably is ok. She was making an appt, had our file in their system and yet still needed his last 4... Hmm? Anyway it seemed fishie to me!! 

So your caller Id tells you it's ok to give our SSN's over the phone? lmao 

Are you sure it was legit? We went there last year and I haven't received a call. Seems fishy to me. 

Call H&R Block back and ask for the woman who called you. Easy enough. If she doesn't exist, alert H&R Block to what just happened. Anyone can 'spoof' another number, quite easily. 

H&R Block sends us stuff in the mail to do our taxes there but we don't go there anymore. We never received a call. 

Imagine that! The nerve of H&R Block wanting a social. Why not call the number back and see who answers and ask for who ever is in charge just to make sure it was legit?

as a former H&R Employee, they do call prior clients. They may have a new system where they must pull your info to make an appt by last 4 SSN IDK

I would have been leaving tomorrow morning to go home but I have an appt on Thursday. I have already missed 2 and if I miss 1 more they said I could be dismissed so I really don't want to have to leave to go home early and reschedule my appt.
