Thankfully they haven't made my husband's new office come to work. He got off last Wednesday when there was a lighter snow. Then had off Friday, today, and tomorrow. The only bad thing is that we can't do anything because nobody else has been going to work either lol. I so badly wanted to go to a coffee shop this morning and get my eyebrows waxed. As for facebook, I despise it! It's so screwy and I mostly go on facebook on my phone and since the change now I can't see real updates. My list will be like something from yesterday, something from a week ago, something from a few days ago, something a week ago, etc. Like nothing current and I don't understand why such the old ones--they don't have new comments or anything. Oh, and it will repeat updates a lot. Grrr!!! 

About the blizzard of 96... Johnson says the snow removal quickly turned into a "loader operation." With the help of agencies from surrounding states, loaders began to help clear the streets of the piles of snow and dump it into the Potomac River. Johnson says it was "quite an amazing sight to see all the snow coming out of the city" in trucks.

(exceptions may be granted on other highways that have high accident rates, are emergency routes, etc.) During a storm, liquid and solid deicers will be used only on highways with annual average daily traffic greater than 15,000 Liquid and solid deicers may be used on any highway following a storm for deicing if necessary Sand may be used on all state highways

The salt helps with small amounts, not huge amounts. If there was only a small dusting of snow/ice it would help. Speaking of flooding, the underground shops below my apartment are flooded in areas! We went on a walk and several areas had HUGE puddles spanning the whole walkway. I don't know why but I found it amusing.
