Sorry but this information is incorrect. Tricare Dental provides the same coverage for all personnel, not based on rank. I just went to their website and I was wrong. Although there isn't much of a change in coverage, I personally think this is outrageous. I do not feel that there should be a difference in coverage based on your paygrade, this is BS!!!!! Grrrrr. I have a friend that use to work for them, I am going to see if he still does and give him a piece of my mind on this crap!!!! O.K... getting off my soapbox.

Wow.. Tri-Care doesn't pay for all of the cost to have your wisdom teeth out!? Oh..geez.

I had no idea all of that was so expensive. I'm glad I had mine taken out when I was still a minor, under my parent's insurance. My hubby had his done two years ago, but he is active duty so they paid for all of it.

Wow.. Tri-Care doesn't pay for all of the cost to have your wisdom teeth out!? Oh..geez. I had mine out with mccs insurance (my dad was already retired), they didn't pay for all of it either. I don't think many insurances pay for it all. Dental coverage typically doesn't cover all of much. I just went to their website and I was wrong. Although there isn't much of a change in coverage, I personally think this is outrageous. I do not feel that there should be a difference in coverage based on your paygrade, this is BS!!!!! Grrrrr. I have a friend that use to work for them, I am going to see if he still does and give him a piece of my mind on this crap!!!! why? When there were copays, higher enlisted paid more (or they were done away with for lower enlisted, and higher still had them) for Tricare. It was the same when it was Champus. When collections are taken at work, the amount a lot of times is based on rank. That's just how it's done. Get to be an E-9 or a higher Officer and you can get back by getting your own parking spot on base. *wink*

I understand all of that, but I truly believe that when it comes to insurance, it should be equal. Do not all pay the same amount monthly out of their checks for dental or is it based on paygrade. I didn't have to pay for dental until after I retired, and for my children they were under my DH's plan and to be honest, I really never paid much attention to the cost. We are now under United Concordia, through my DH insurance with his work. What does collections at work have to do with insurance?

Do not all pay the same amount monthly out of their checks for dental or is it based on paygrade. We pay almost $10 a paycheck for the dental.

What does collections at work have to do with insurance? I was just making a point that it all has to do with how the military works. Have you not noticed that? I also said that copays were different, did you miss that?
